A Proclamation...
WHEREAS, the two-dollar bill is legal tender in the United States, still printed to this day, and
Whereas, in February of this year, a Baltimore man was arrested for attempting to use a two-dollar bill at an area Best Buy, and
Whereas, there is a general lack of awareness among some in the retail community regarding the validity of the two-dollar bill, and
Whereas, Thomas Jefferson, third Presidient of the United States is commemorated on the face of the two-dollar bill, and
Whereas, April 13th is the birth day of the late President Jefferson:
Let it be RESOLVED that April 13th is "Two-dollar Bill Day", and on this day we should all attempt to purchase things with two-dollar bills to commemorate the life and career of President Jefferson, and remind the American public that the paper money bearing his likeness is legal tender.
